Holistic Nutrition
"Let food be thy medicine"
Hippocrates
I am a certified Holistic Nutritionist with the Energetic Health Institute under Dr. H. Ealy.

Holistic nutrition is an approach to health and wellness that considers the whole person, including their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. It emphasizes the use of natural, whole foods and integrates various aspects of lifestyle and environment to promote optimal health.

How Did I Become a Holistic Nutritionist?
A long time ago, I read the statement: "What is in the way is the way." This resonated deeply with me, especially during a period when food felt like the enemy. To address my digestive issues, menstrual problems, and eating challenges, I explored various healing modalities leading me to become a body-mind coach.
I tend to view challenges as originating from emotional or traumatic sources. But after my first detox with the Energetic Health Institute, I experienced profound healing on multiple levels. That motivated me to dive deeper into the subject. I also discovered the significant impact of supplementation and nutrition in a flexible, non-dogmatic manner. When you think you’re already sharp and healthy, experiencing an elevated state of well-being and mental clarity drives you to learn more and integrate these insights into your practice.
Clients often come to me with emotional eating, weight concerns, digestive issues and inquire about nutritional advice. This pushed me to pursue further studies in holistic nutrition. While I still believe that food alone can't create all the changes, a holistic nutritional approach complements my work perfectly. I now possess a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the body and food, enhancing my ability to support clients through bodywork and coaching.

Key Principles of Holistic Nutrition:

-
Whole Foods: Holistic nutrition prioritizes whole, unprocessed foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and lean proteins. These foods are rich in essential nutrients and free from additives and preservatives that can harm health.

-
Individualized Approach: Each person is unique, and holistic nutrition tailors dietary recommendations to meet individual needs, taking into account factors like age, gender, health status, lifestyle, and personal preferences.

-
Mind-Body Connection: Holistic nutrition recognizes the powerful connection between mind and body. It addresses emotional and psychological factors that can impact eating habits and overall health.

-
Balance and Moderation: Emphasizing balance and moderation, holistic nutrition encourages a varied diet that includes all food groups in appropriate proportions to ensure a wide range of nutrients.

-
Natural and Organic: Whenever possible, holistic nutrition advocates for the consumption of organic and locally sourced foods to reduce exposure to pesticides, chemicals, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

-
Hydration: Adequate hydration is essential for overall health. Holistic nutrition stresses the importance of drinking plenty of water and consuming hydrating foods.

-
Detoxification: Supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes is a component of holistic nutrition. This can involve dietary adjustments, such as increasing fiber intake and consuming detoxifying foods like leafy greens and citrus fruits.

-
Supplementation: When necessary, holistic nutrition may include the use of supplements to address specific nutrient deficiencies or health concerns, but it prioritizes obtaining nutrients from food sources first.

Benefits of Holistic Nutrition:

-
Improved Digestion: A diet rich in whole foods can enhance digestive health by providing adequate fiber and supporting gut microbiota.

-
Increased Energy: Proper nutrition can boost energy levels and improve overall vitality.

-
Weight Management: Holistic nutrition promotes a healthy weight through balanced eating habits and mindful food choices.

-
Better Mental Health: By addressing the mind-body connection, holistic nutrition can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.

-
Enhanced Immune Function: Nutrient-dense foods support the immune system, helping to ward off illnesses and infections.

-
